Last week, two of our shop’s craziest riders, Ramsey Hanna (IG: @ramdough_rides_bikes) and Karl Kramer (IG: @kp_one_three), completed the longest ride we’ve ever seen take place from the shop. They set out on an epic journey covering 200+ miles, with Ramsey electing to nap it out overnight and Karl pressing on through the darkness. Here’s their story.

The two started their day on Saturday (1/21) at 7am. They rode together throughout the day, challenging each other and taking in the scenery. But once the darkness of night fell, Ramsay was ready for some rest (so he could continue in the morning) but Karl pressed on with the mantra of completing this epic journey into the wee hours of the night.

Karl pressed on through the night!  With temperatures dropping and his food pockets dwindling, Karl was challenged to no end.  He eventually prevailed with an arrival time at around 3a at VeloConcepts.

Ramsay woke up early the next morning and continued on solo to finish the remaining miles by himself. He arrived back at the shop around noon on Sunday, tired but triumphant. And promptly loaded up on some 18 Grams goodies.

When asked why they did it, Karl said “I just wanted to see if I could do it.” Ramsay said he was “just trying to keep up with Karl.” We’re not sure what possessed them to attempt such a feat, but we’re glad they did it! And we’re glad they made it back safe and sound.

Both Karl & Ramsey had slightly varied routes due to their different experiences.  But if you ask me I’m not sure I would want to do it either way.
