VeloConcepts is excited to announce our upcoming bike maintenance clinics! Starting in January, we will be offering three unique clinics that provide valuable information and tips on how to repair and maintain your bike.
Clinics: Every Thursday in January at 7pm
Our first clinic, Beginning Bike Repair & Maintenance, will take place on January 12 at 7pm. During this session, you’ll learn the basics of bike repair and maintenance that are essential for all cyclists. We’ll discuss topics like inspecting the frame for damage, lubricating chains and cables, and the quickest & easiest way to fix a flats. You’ll also learn about the essential tools you need when working on your bike such as torque wrenches, allen keys, screwdrivers, etc. You’ll also get a chance to get hands-on experience with some of these tasks throughout the clinic.
On January 19th we will be hosting an Advanced Bike Repair clinic. This session is designed for those who already know the basics and want to expand their knowledge. We’ll cover more complicated repairs such as wheel truing (adjusting spoke tension), bleeding brakes, replacing both rim & hydraulic brake pads, adjusting shifting for maximum performance, etc. After this session you’ll be ready to keep your bike running smoothly with regular maintenance!
Finally on January 26th we will host an Introduction to Tubeless clinic. In this session you’ll learn all about tubeless tires — their advantages over traditional tires, how they work and what is required to make them work properly on your bike. We’ll also go over how to install a tubeless tire set up including mounting the tires onto wheels; setting up the valve stems; sealing up rim beds; adding sealant; inflating tires; burping the system; and care afterwards.
